this study. Statistical analysis showed that GWA has a weak to moderate and significant relationship to the performance of the aforementioned students in their major courses. However, academic strands correlated to the same variable has no significant relationship. In summary, although the performance of these students is generally high, only the GWA has a significant contribution to student's achievement.

Key findings suggest that more studies should be conducted to really measure student's performance in this field. The results also suggest that the government should be aware of the fact the senior high school education is not good enough and shall make drastic measures to improve the quality of education here in the Philippines.
