In the final days of the Mayan civilization, Jaguar Paw and his fellow villagers lead a peaceful life in the forest until a savage attack destroys their world. After hiding his pregnant wife and young son from the invaders, Jaguar Paw joins in the fight, only to be taken prisoner. He is then carried through a series of adventures as he tries to escape and return to his family.
