Thesis (B.S.) -- Cagayan State University, 2025.

This study focuses on the hot mix asphalt mixture added with bamboo ash as an additive to determine how it affects its mechanical properties in terms of stability, density, and flow. This study focuses on determining the strength, specific gravity, and deformation of hot mix asphalt mixtures with 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% of bamboo ash compared to traditional mixtures. ANOVA and regression analysis were conducted to analyze the statistical significance of results. As the percent of ash is being mixed, the mechanical properties of hot mix asphalt led to lower strength and specific gravity; in terms of flow, the graph shows that the addition of bamboo ash in hot mix asphalt mixture improves the flow at certain percentages of ash in samples. This study demonstrates the feasibility and potential of using bamboo (kawayan kiling) ash as an additive in hot mix asphalt mixture. The study confirms that bamboo ash is a potential additive for hot mix asphalt, particularly when used in small to moderate proportions. Its inclusion can enhance key performance properties such as stability, flow, and even density, making it a promising material for pavement applications.
