The purpose of this project is to a develop a local real-time river flood
monitoring and warning system for the selected communities in Tuguegarao City near Cagayan River to alert the public against flood disasters. This project is composed of two systems - monitoring and warning system. The monitoring system is placed on the Capatan Bridge which is consisted of float sensors, serve as switch, and ultrasonic sensor for additional data which is then processed by microcontrollers and transmitted through GSM SIM800L. In order to alert the authorized person in charge, the data is sent to Blynk app, a platform that works over the internet, which processes received information and displays the water level. Concern agencies, local officials, local communities as well as commuters could acquire current status through sign boards, siren alert and lift barriers.
