This research focuses on the design development of a gymnasium at Cagayan State University Lal-lo Campus to be a facility for physical education, sports use, and learning activities for the university. With a growing number of programs which lead to increasing numbers of students enrolling in lectures at the campus, appropriate recreation and multipurpose space will be necessary to ensure holistic development of students. This study used a descriptive research design methodology which incorporated input from stakeholders from the university community to produce a proposal for a gymnasium which will support academic requirements and extracurricular needs. The design development will reflect space planning, functional aspects, accessibility and overall learning space to support active living for students and staff roles on campus. This proposal will also have a beneficial impact on the continuous modernization of the built environment and health of students at CSU Lal-lo.
