Thesis (B.S.) -- Cagayan State University, 2023.
Includes bibliographical references.

The world's energy consumption has increased throughout time. Higher demand means higher greenhouse gas produced which harms the environment. Herewith, the researchers present a system using the concept of energy-generating gym equipment utilizing a mechanical motion rectifier. The Unilateral cable machine is a gym equipment that can accommodate exercising multiple muscle groups in the body. The energy harvesting system constructed could harness vertical and horizontal motion through the Mechanical Motion Rectifier (MMR) which converts the bidirectional movement generated during exercise into unidirectional motion, allowing for the extraction and storage of energy. A rack that is attached to the cable machine serve as the driver of the system. The system has been designed and tested based on theoretical calculations and actual experimentation. In this paper, the adapted gearing system is a 44T:11T chain drive system connected to a 2 kg flywheel. It was found that the 12-V DC generator could Generate a 10.13 V, .516 A at 434.45 RPM and is regulated into 4.2-V to charge the 3.7- V 3000mAh battery in 2.26 hours or the equivalent of 30.83 sets or 369.96 repetitions of continuous usage of the system for workout. The system was found that the it could effectively generate energy through vertical and horizontal motion with the use of mechanical motion rectifier.
