| Summary, etc | Hooding causes major problems to urban roads, particularly in areas that is highly vulnerable to extreme weather events. This can cause disruption and weakens the road structure leading to major repair expense and increased safety risk. This study investigated the road damage caused by extreme flooding on road sections of Centre 11. Tuguegarao City, Cagayan This study aims to generate flood map using GIS, identify damage types and severities, determine the physical properties of soil, and analyze the relationship between road damage, soil condition and drainage presence Lising purposive sampling technique and quantitative research design, this study employed descriptive analytical approach that integrates field observation and soil sampling to identify and classify road damages, such as crack types and their severity It also assessed the state of the drainage system, determining whether they are present and functional or absent in the affected tend sections. This study shows that even if the road section while having existing drainage system, significant road damage still occurs. Soils teste revealed that more of the samples math minimum requirement of CBR and failed in term of grate size distribution However it showed that the compaction levels met the DPWH inandards The study found significant correlation between road damage severity and soil properties, particularly CBR and passing Sieve No 200, indicating that weaker souls and higher Time content contribute to more severo damage. However, other factors like compaction, passing Sirve No. 4, and drainage presence showed no significant colleration, suggesting their influence may be minimal of due to chance. This indicated that pavement damage is likely canted mat only by soil conditions, but also by other contributing factors such as drainage efficiency traffic loading and construction materials quality These results, require relevant stakeholders to implement flood-resilient rad designs particularly in low-lying areas, using materials and structural enhancements that car withstand prolonged water exposure Keywords Flooding, road damage, GIS, soil properties, drainage systems, pavement |
