This study aimed on grasping how contractors in Tuguegarao City apply circular economy practices through 10R framework in projects. These are the refuse, rethink, reduce, reuse, repair, refurbish, remanufacture, repurpose, recycle, and recover. A survey was conducted with 30 project managers from different companies working on vertical building projects. Findings showed that most of them are already practicing circular economy principles to a high level, especially when it comes to reducing waste and recycling. Among the contractors, those under PCAB Category B showed the most consistent and balanced application of these practices. The study found strong correlations among some of the 10R principle of CE, notably Reduce-Refurbish and Repair- Remanufacture, indicating that improvement in one area can positively influence other related practices. It was also found that contractors with more years of experience were less likely to adopt rethink practices, which may mean they tend to stick with traditional methods rather than explore new, more sustainable ones. Refurbish was the only practice that showed a significant connection to contractor classification like PCAB category, suggesting that some companies might have more resources or tools for certain circular activities. In summary, while circular economy practices are becoming more common in Tuguegarao's construction sector, there is still room for improvement especially in encouraging experienced contractors to be more open to change. This study hopes to help guide local efforts toward a more sustainable construction industry in the local sector.
