Summary, etc With the world slowly transitioning from non-renewable to renewable energy sources, the investigation on implementing the use of anaerobic digestion in producing alternative source of energy in terms of biogas is widely considered to this day as well as taking into account the utilization of possible feedstocks that could optimize the production of biogas. This study evaluated the anaerobic co-digestion of Carabao dung (CD) and banana peels (BP) specifically Musa acuminata x balbisiana (ABB Group) by determining the optimal ratio of CD and BP for optimum co-digestion. The co-digestion ratios of CD and BP were at 30:70, 50:50, and 70:30 for two runs held at the same period. A bench-scale anaerobic digester was designed and fabricated to perform the experiment. The C/N ratio of CD and BP were analyzed by computation using Black & Walkley and Kjeldahl method, and revealed that BP has a higher C/N ratio of 30.43 by mass ratio compared to CD with 22.67 by mass ratio. The highest biogas yield was also recorded in this ratio for the first and second run with an average of 354.8 and 334.8 ml respectively, held within the mesophilic temperature range and optimum pH control for 25 days of hydraulic retention time.
