Summary, etc There is an increasing level of pollution and global climate changes in the planet due to the excessive use of non-renewable sources of energy. This spurred growing interest in harvesting green energy from all possible resources. One of the under-utilized source is the energy that one spends during physical exercise at gymnasiums. This study is conducted to determine the feasibility of incorporating a piezoelectric generator into the rear wheel of a stationary bicycle to utilize the energy from physical exercise. The system was designed through various experiments on the individual components to identify the appropriate materials and best configuration of the system. Moreover, experiments were also conducted after assembling the whole system. It was found that the system can generate about 84.9 mW of electric power. The power generated is stored in a 5-Volt battery and an economic analysis was conducted. It was found out that the developed system is capable of charging the 5-volt battery, however, it would take a long time to charge the battery and recover the initial cost of the whole system making it not economically feasible.
