Summary, etc | This study introduced a Microcontroller based energy monitoring system with SMS notification and forecasting capability so that owners can utilize efficiently the energy stored in the battery. In real-time, the system can measure and store the voltage and current, and power supplied by the solar panel and the power consumed by the load. It can also forecast the time needed to deplete or full charge the battery. The measured outputs are displayed on the LCD instantaneously and logged into an SD card every minute. The system then saves the logged parameters in log. file (.txt) and is arranged according to voltage, current, power supplied, power consumed, and forecasted time of the battery. And lastly, the device can send the real-time energy consumption information to the owner remotely. The owner will only receive an SMS notification when the battery is about to be fully charged, the battery is full, about to be depleted, and the battery is depleted. The experiment conducted shows that the system was able to measure the current state of charge of the battery and also able to forecast the time needed to either deplete or full charge the battery.
