Thesis (B.S.) -- Cagayan State University, 2023.
Includes bibliographical references.

The Cacao Guard project addresses the issue of increasing cacao diseases which negatively impacts the cacao production and farmers' livelihood. To address this., a user-friendly system using image processing is proposed for disease detection and management. The application allows the user to capture and analyze the picture taken. Following that, image processing through the use of machine learning, is used to examine the images to look for any indication of disease. Ifa disease is found, the system will notify the farmer and provide details of the disease and the measures to take to lessen the likelihood of disease outbreaks. The study aimed to create a cost-effective method for cacao disease detection and management through mobile technology and Image processing. Objectives include developing an efficient disease identification method, testing and gathering feedback. The Cacao Guard also aimed to detect diseases, reduce losses, improve cacao quality and increase income, it also promotes environmental sustainability by reducing pesticide usage. The data collected benefits the researchers, farmers and also the cacao processing companies like chocolate factories.
