A transformer is an electrical device that either steps up or steps down the voltage from one alternating-current circuit to one or more other circuits. In distribution utilities, many overhead distribution transformers that were installed several years ago have not received regular maintenance. Here, the researcher designs and develops a prototype that is capable of monitoring the transformer's condition through the current, voltage, and temperature sensors. In this study, the researcher used an Arduino Mega 25603 microcontroller. Two sensors were connected to the secondary line of the load a ZMPT101B voltage sensor and an ACS712 current sensor in order to gather data, and a DS18B20 temperature sensor was also attached to the transformer. The device determines the status of the transformer, whether it is underload (<40%), normal load (40% - 70%), or about to overload (>70%). In an emergency, the system immediately sends information about the status of the transformer based on the measured parameters. The utility could access the transformer information by texting "#STATUS," and the system has the capability of sending a monthly transformer status report. From the conducted experiment, the system was able to perform all the simulated setup. It will provide the needed information around 2 seconds. This could be a great help to the utility in their TLM activity to optimize the use of transformers and early detection of transformer overloading.
